This week, a report from realestate.com.au has shown that the inner west of Brisbane is likely to be some of this Spring/Summer selling seasons’ hottest real estate marketplaces.

Buyer activity in Paddington, Red Hill, Ashgrove and Wilston are all significantly higher than this time last year; 1.4% higher to be exact.

Realestate.com.au chief economist Nerida Conisbee, whose research shows Queensland to be the only state showing a strengthening marketplace.

“Better economic growth conditions appear to be a positive in this market and premium Brisbane suburbs are the beneficiaries,” she said. The strong uptake of demand for Brisbane housing from offshore and interstate buyers is also a factor. Typical Sydney and Melbourne buyers have begun to look north for comparatively better-valued housing. We expect the trend to last over the next 12 months.
